<p>Has the same grin and eyes as&nbsp;<a href="/grinning-face-with-smiling-eyes/">😄 Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes</a>&nbsp;but with a single, blue bead of sweat, usually over its left eye. Intended to depict nerves or discomfort but commonly used to express a close call, as if saying <em>Whew!</em> and wiping sweat from the forehead.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A yellow face with scrunched, X-shaped eyes and a big grin, sticking out its <a href="/tongue/">tongue</a>. Often conveys a sense of fun, excitement, playfulness, hilarity, and happiness, as if saying <i>Squee!</i> or <i>Awesome! </i></p>

The project has been continued as a <a href="https://github.com/jdecked/twemoji">standalone open source project</a> by former Twitter staff alongside members of the <a href="/discord">Discord</a> design team.</p>

<p>In February 2023 the Twemoji set ceased to be used by Twitter / X on mobile devices, replaced by the device&#39;s native emoji designs. <p>Emojis from Twemoji are found on&nbsp;the <em>Twitter / X website (Twtter.com / X.com),</em>&nbsp;<em>TweetDeck,</em>&nbsp;<em>Twitter for Android</em>,<em>&nbsp;</em><a href="/discord/">Discord</a>, <a href="/roblox/">Roblox</a>, and other apps.&nbsp;The Twitter / X app for iOS has always used&nbsp;the native emojis provided by Apple.</p>

<p>Hashmojis&nbsp;(previously known as&nbsp;<em>hashflags, </em>and later<em>&nbsp;</em>C<em>ustom Twitter emojis</em>)&nbsp;are enabled for some&nbsp;events or promotions. These display on Twitter / X for a limited time, after specific hashtags.</p>

<p>Since 2021&nbsp;glossy Twemoji Stickers began showing in <a href="https://blog.emojipedia.org/new-glossy-twemoji-designs-appear-in-fleets/">select locations across Twitter</a>, but as of early 2022 these glossy designs have yet to be used within the Twemoji emoji set. As of October 2022, these glossy sticker designs have been available for use within the Twitter mobile image editor and are featured within the platform&#39;s Twitter Status feature.</p>
