Zero Width Joiner, pronounced &quot;zwidge&quot;, is not an emoji and has no appearance by itself. This&nbsp;is an invisible character when used alone.

A cartoon-styled representation of <a href="/dizzy-face/">dizziness</a>. Generally depicted as one or more yellow stars swirling in a yellow or blue circle.

Resembles <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lexicon_of_Comicana">squeans</a>, stylized stars and circles over the heads of characters in comics and animation to show they are dizzy, <a href="/woozy-face/">disoriented</a>, intoxicated, or <a href="/nauseated-face/">sick</a>.

Commonly used for emphasis and flair or to indicate various positive sentiments. Like <a href="/shooting-star/">🌠 Shooting Star</a>, sometimes used as a visual reference to NBC&rsquo;s <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_More_You_Know">More You Know</a> public service announcement, popular in the 1990s and featuring a&nbsp;shooting star logo.

Not to be confused with <a href="/star/">⭐ Star</a>, <a href="/glowing-star/">🌟 Glowing Star</a>, and <a href="/sparkles/">✨ Sparkles</a>, though their applications may overlap.

Facebook&rsquo;s design features two stars spinning along two intersecting purple circles, though it <a href="/facebook/2.0/dizzy/">previously</a> only featured one&nbsp;yellow ring. <a href="/samsung/touchwiz-7.1/dizzy/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a> design previously displayed several yellow circles and stars.

Dizzy Symbol

A face with spiral-shaped eyes, commonly used to indicate dizziness, but may also represent hypnosis or other forms of disorientation.

Created in <a href="/emoji-13.1">2020</a> disambiguate from the <a href="/dizzy-face">😵 Face with Crossed-Out Eyes</a> emoji which previously displayed spiral eyes on <a href="/microsoft/windows-10-may-2019-update/dizzy-face/">some</a> <a href="/google/android-8.0/dizzy-face/">platforms</a>, but X eyes on others.&nbsp;This emoji will consistently show spiral eyes on all platforms.

Similar to <a href="/hushed-face/">😯&nbsp;Hushed Face</a>, which features smaller eyes and mouth. Several earlier designs, <a href="/apple/ios-6.0/astonished-face/">including Apple&rsquo;s</a>, displayed X-shaped eyes, making the emoji resemble <a href="/dizzy-face/">😵&nbsp;Dizzy Face</a>. Google&rsquo;s design <a href="/google/android-7.0/astonished-face/">previously depicted</a> a wobbly expression, as if <a href="/woozy-face/">inebriated</a>.

Huawei&#39;s design for this emoji includes a&nbsp;<a href="/collision">💥 Collision</a>-like symbol behind its head, emphasising its astonishment.

Astonished Face

A yellow face with a crumpled mouth and a cockeyed expression, as if <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tired_and_emotional">tired and emotional</a> from inebriation or smitten with love. Depicted with raised or furrowed eyebrows and at least one eye half-open. WhatsApp&#39;s design features a tongue hanging out.&nbsp;

Meaning widely varies, but commonly conveys intoxication or&nbsp;infatuation. Its dazed expression may also represent such feelings or states as bewilderment,&nbsp;irritation, disgust, exhaustion, wackiness, or complete satisfaction.

Face with Uneven Eyes and Wavy Mouth

A yellow face with an open&nbsp;mouth, the top of its head exploding in the shape of a brain-like mushroom cloud. A visual form of the expression mind blown, it&nbsp;may represent such emotions as shock, awe, amazement, and disbelief.

Apple&rsquo;s design features the same expression as its&nbsp;<a href="/frowning-face-with-open-mouth/">😦 Frowning Face With Open Mouth</a>.

Shocked Face with Exploding Head

A generic bird. Variously depicted as a blue or red bird, as a bluebird or cardinal, shown standing in full profile, or as a bird head.&nbsp;Both designs&nbsp;show the bird facing left.

May be used for a variety of wild and pet birds as well as for metaphorical senses of bird (e.g., <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Par_(score)#Birdie">birdie</a> in <a href="/flag-in-hole/">golf</a>).

Apple and WhatsApp&rsquo;s designs feature a grayish bird head. Google, Samsung, and Facebook&rsquo;s designs suggest a bluebird, Microsoft and Twitter&rsquo;s a cardinal. Google&rsquo;s bird <a href="/google/android-4.4/bird/">previously</a> resembled a canary, <a href="/samsung/experience-9.0/bird/">Samsung&rsquo;s</a> was previously green, and <a href="/microsoft/windows-10/bird/">Microsoft</a> and <a href="/twitter/twemoji-2.0/bird/">Twitter&rsquo;s</a> birds were once blue.

South Korean financial technology company Toss (토스) provides its own emoji design set within its mobile application. The design set, entitled Toss Face (토스페이스), has also been made available as a free font file for Apple devices.

First launched in early 2022, the Toss Face emoji set originally included a series of intentionally divergent emoji designs compared to those of other vendors.

The majority of these divergent designs followed two broad themes. Firstly,&nbsp;rendering culturally-specific Japanese emojis with designs representing related South Korean concepts (e.g. the <a href="/sake/">🍶 Sake</a> emoji appearing as <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makgeolli">makgeolli</a>).

Secondly, emojis&nbsp;representing older technologies with designs representing more contemporary innovations. (e.g. <a href="/pager/">📟 Pager</a> displaying as instant messaging speech bubbles; <a href="/auto-rickshaw/">🛺 Auto Rickshaw</a> being displyed as a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unmanned_aerial_vehicle">drone</a>).

In March 2022 these divergent designs were updated to accurately reflect Unicode&#39;s recommendations. In April 2022 they were re-added to the Toss app using <a href="https://emojipedia.org/glossary/">Private Use Area</a> codepoints.&nbsp;

Released 2022-08-16, this Toss Face emoji update&nbsp;added support for <a href="https://emojipedia.org/emoji-14.0/">Emoji 14.0</a> and updated several existing emoji designs&nbsp;to better match those of other vendors.

The update also re-introduced a series of&nbsp;Korean-oriented and future-oriented emoji designs to the Toss Face emoji set via <a href="https://emojipedia.org/glossary/#pua">Private User Area</a> characters.

Released 2022-03-28, this update to the Toss Face emoji set changed a series of previously divergent emoji designs&nbsp;to accurately reflect Unicode&#39;s&nbsp;recommendations.
