iOS 4.0 - 21 June 2010
iOS 4.0 supported emoji characters in the private use area, prior to inclusion of emoji in the Unicode Standard.
These were not cross-platform compatible, and have been included here for image reference. Codepoints have been updated to match the current release of the Unicode Standard.
iOS 4.0 was released on June 21, 2010. This update added no new emojis, but did increase the resolution of the emoji font and update the design for the 📺 Television emoji.
Mac OS X 10.7.0 Lion also supported the same emojis in this set.
