This emoji is commonly used to express sassiness or sarcasm.

While no gender is specified, many early designs displayed this emoji as a woman. Google’s 2014 design shows a blob wearing white gloves and a pillbox hat. Microsoft’s 2015 design shows a woman doing this gesture while winking, a facial expression that further reinforces the sassy and sarcastic uses of this emoji.

Infoschalter-Mitarbeiter(In) wurde als Teil von Unicode 6.0 in 2010 genehmigt und zu Emoji 1.0 in 2015 hinzugefügt.
